Level 3
- For recipients seeking an Associates degree, AA or AAS, in early childhood education. Both general education and early childhood courses are included in the scholarship as each is required to attain a degree.
- Scholarship Level 3 can be maintained for as many years as it takes to earn a degree. Scholarship contracts are awarded consecutively for as long as funding is sustained.
T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI provides:
- 80% of tuition & books each semester (90% paid for family child care providers & child care facility owners)
- Reimburse sponsoring centers & family providers for recipient release time - 3 hours each week of class at a rate of $7.50/hr (a maximum of 132 hours a year)
- Provide each recipient with a $40 travel stipend each semester of classes (applied by T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI to percentage owed for tuition and books)
- Compensate each recipient with a $300 bonus at the end of the contract year (in two installments)
- Offer daily access to a counselor via a toll free number to assist in questions about college, registration & enrollment, creative time management & scheduling, early childhood issues, or to lend a sympathetic ear as a fellow early childhood advocate
- Renew for another contract year of education based on available funding
Sponsor provides:
- 10% of the total cost for tuition & books each semester (billed separately by T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI)
- Allow recipient to take 3 paid hours of release time from work each week of class. Time can be used to study, attend class, or meet general needs to assure success in classes. (Scheduling of release time is decided on between the sponsor and the recipient.)
- Invoice T.E.A.C.H. for release time reimbursement payments of $7.50/hr each month, mid-semester or at the end of each semester - not exceeding 132 hours a year (T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI provides funds for paying substitutes, NOT the substitute teachers.)
- Compensate the recipient at the end of each contract year based on the option chosen with the recipient during the application process.
Option 1: Recipient receives a 2% raise over & above the normal
cost of living or merit raises
Option 2: Recipient receives a $300 bonus
Recipient provides:
- Attend 9 to 15 credit hours at your local public community college/university over one contract year (3 consecutive semesters) working toward a professional degree in early childhood education (AA, AAS, CDA, Proficiency Certificate)
- 10% of the total cost for tuition & books each semester (billed separately by T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI)
- Pass all classes with a C or better
- Agree to stay employed for 1 full year at your sponsoring center or in operation as a family child care provider after your educational year is completed. (In return for the scholarship and compensation, the recipient agrees to stay employed at the center, family home, or group home for one full year after the completion of the educational contract year. This guarantees a two year commitment by the teacher to the families and children served by the sponsoring facility. If the contract is broken, the recipient is obligated to reimburse T.E.A.C.H. MISSOURI for the full scholarship amount. )

* There is a limit of three recipients from a given facility in this scholarship at the same time.
** Scholarship Level 3 can be applied to college credit bearing courses through a public community college or university.
